Recreational Drugs and Environmental Toxins
We will be covering elemental toxins, poisonous plants/fungi, and venomous animals in order to provide the most in-depth and varied source of information on this topic. The final section of the lecture will cover recreational drugs, which essentially are toxins in and of themselves because of their unique abilities to alter the mind and body the way they famously do. We will be covering drugs that are commonly used in the U.S., like alcohol and caffeine as well as drugs that are not so common in the U.S., such as Cebil and Ayahuasca.
By the end of this lecture, I’m sure that you will walk away feeling much more confident in your knowledge about toxins and drugs and I hope that it will give you a more profound respect for the natural environment that you encounter on a daily basis.
